Welcome to Sky High Photography UK — where landscapes rise, horizons expand, and the world is seen from a new perspective.
I’m Mike McMahon, a Manchester-based photographer with a deep passion for capturing the natural beauty of the UK through both traditional and aerial imagery.

Photography began as a simple hobby for me, a way to unwind and explore the outdoors. But over time it became something more — a driving creative force that inspires me to travel, climb, hike and seek out unforgettable views. Several years on, I’m still chasing that perfect combination of light, weather, and landscape that turns a moment into an image worth sharing.

My Vision

I believe that every landscape has a story — sometimes fierce and rugged, sometimes calm and introspective. My aim is to capture that story in a way that feels immersive and emotive.

Through drone photography, I bring a new dimension to familiar places:

• sweeping ridgelines in the Peak District,
• dramatic coasts and mountains in Wales,
• vast, atmospheric scenes across Scotland,
• and the ever-changing, vibrant cityscape of Greater Manchester.

Whether it’s an early-morning ascent to catch the first golden light or a drone flight revealing patterns invisible from the ground, my work is driven by curiosity and a desire to show the UK from unique, elevated perspectives.

I’m always exploring — waiting for the wind to settle, watching weather fronts roll in, or racing to catch a sunset that lasts only a few minutes. These moments are fleeting, but photography preserves them forever.

My work has been published multiple times in various uk photography magazines and also has been exhibited at OT Creative Space, as part of The Window exhibition, showcasing aerial and landscape photography that invites viewers to experience the outdoors from above and beyond.

I also regularly share my work through social media, photography communities, and online galleries.
