Manchester Small Group Photography Workshop FAQs
Is the workshop suitable for complete beginners?
Absolutely. The workshop is beginner friendly and is designed to help you understand your camera and move beyond Auto mode.
How many people are on each workshop?
Each workshop is limited to a maximum of 5 photographers. Keeping the group small means everyone receives plenty of individual attention and hands-on tuition.
Do I need to know how to use manual mode?
No. If you’re currently using Auto mode, that’s absolutely fine. I’ll teach you how to take greater control of your camera at a pace that suits you.
Do I need an expensive camera?
No. You don’t need the latest camera or expensive lenses. Learning how to use the equipment you already own is far more important.
Where does the workshop take place?
The workshop takes place around Manchester city centre, with locations selected according to the conditions and interests of the group.
How long is the workshop?
The small group photography workshop lasts 5 hours.
How much does the workshop cost?

Can I learn long exposure photography?
Long exposure techniques can be covered during the workshop where appropriate, including how shutter speed affects movement and how to create more creative cityscape images.
Will I receive editing advice?
Editing workflow and photography tips are provided after the session to help you continue developing your images.
