What You’ll Learn on Your Liverpool Drone Photography Workshop

Your workshop is tailored to your experience, your drone and the photography skills you want to develop. Together, we’ll choose the techniques that will be most useful to you, with time to practise and review your photographs.

• Understand your drone camera settings, including shutter speed, ISO and aperture where adjustable.
• Take control of exposure using Manual mode and learn the benefits of shooting RAW.
• Create stronger aerial compositions using leading lines, symmetry, patterns and depth.
• Choose your drone’s position and height to make the most of Liverpool’s waterfront and architecture.
• Work with changing light, including golden hour, sunset or blue hour when conditions allow.
• Balance bright skies with darker buildings and foreground detail.
• Explore smooth cinematic movements and hyperlapse techniques, depending on your drone and interests.
• Build confidence in flight planning, choosing suitable locations and making responsible flying decisions.

Photograph Liverpool’s Waterfront & Skyline

Liverpool’s waterfront offers striking subjects for aerial photography, from the Royal Liver Building and Pier Head architecture to the River Mersey and the city’s changing skyline.

We’ll explore how to find stronger compositions by considering your viewpoint, the direction of light and the relationship between buildings, water and sky. Depending on your chosen session time, we can focus on daytime detail, warm sunset light or the illuminated waterfront at blue hour.

Your meeting point and suitable flying locations will be agreed before the workshop, taking account of your drone, the weather, airspace restrictions and any permissions required. The session will be planned around your interests and the opportunities available on the day.
